The Kingfishers have a set uniform which consists of a black leotard, black leggings, ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Children can also order an assortment of black HSOD embroidered items if desired but this is optional. Street dance students have no set uniform, however HSOD embroidered items can also be ordered. Children should come to lesson in appropriate dance wear and street dance students are expected to have black dance shoes/trainers for exams and shows.

Please note that all children under secondary school age will need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their allocated time. Please remember that all changing areas must remain female only and will be in rooms 1 and 2. All students should arrive ready with hair and make up complete. Food and refreshments will be available on the day.

Saturday 31st January 2026 – Kingfishers Prelim Modern

Please note that this is a grade exam and therefore there will be an extra exam rehearsal on Friday 30th January 2026. Attendance to this is very important for the students to ensure they are prepared for the exam.

Attendance times for the extra rehearsal on Friday 30th January are as follows:

All Kingfishers – 4.15pm – 5.30pm

For the exam on Saturday, students will need their black leggings and leotard (boys will need a black t-shirt) with ballet shoes and ballet socks. Long hair should be in 2 plaits (french or normal) and NO makeup should be worn.

Attendance times for Saturday 31st January are as follows:

Nehanda, Xayvian, Ivan, Georgia, Sophia – 9.30am – 10.30am

Rona, Amelie, Elisa, Isabelle – 10.20am – 11.20am

Asha, Renee, Chloe, Alexa, Freya – 10.50am – 11.50am

Kirsten, Beatrice, Mia, Holly, Elsie – 1.30pm – 2.30pm

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KINGFISHERS GYM CLASS WILL GO AHEAD AS NORMAL ON THIS DAY AND WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE HODGSON HALL FROM 12PM – 12.45PM! THERE WILL BE NO KINGFISHERS DANCE LESSON ON THIS DAY.

Saturday 7th February 2026 – Kites street dance exam

Attendance times:

Hector, Nehanda, Xayvian, Mia, Mykola, Elisa, Alexa, Freya, Asha, Kirsten – 10am – 10.45am

Amilija, Seren, Isobel, Mila, Leah, Ruby – 1pm – 1.45pm

All Kites will be given a costume that they should arrive in for the exam. Hair should be in a high pony if applicable and makeup can be worn. Students should wear suitable black dance shoes/trainers for the exam with black socks. All costumes should be washed and returned on the following street dance lesson.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KINGFISHERS DANCE CLASS AND GYM CLASS WILL GO AHEAD AS NORMAL ON THIS DAY AND WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE HODGSON HALL FROM 11AM – 12.45PM! 

Saturday 20th December 2025

The annual Christmas showcase is a relaxed event held at normal in the Memorial hall. It is a chance for family and friends to see some of the class and exam work that is not displayed in our summer show. 

All students should wear their normal uniform and bring all their dance shoes with them. If applicable, all students should arrive in their tap shoes or Pointe shoes. Christmas accessories can be worn if desired. Tickets for audience members are purchased at the door on a first come first serve basis, please bring cash with you to pay for your entry. Prices of tickets are £3 for adults and £1 for children.

Please note there are NO normal lessons on this day and please only attend for your allocated showcase time. All students should arrive 15 minutes before their allocated time. All showcases will be between 45 minutes – 1 hour long. Please note that we have more than one showcase on this day and timings are tight so all showcases must start on time. We have tried to make sure siblings are in the same showcase however there may be some instances where this hasn’t been possible. Thank you again for your cooperation and support with this.

Refreshments will be provided in the hub so please help yourselves.
