Introduction to Highams School of Dancing

Highams School of Dancing is run by Sarah Barrett a qualified member of the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD). There are 2 branches of the school one in Epping and one in Highams Park .

The school teaches, ballet, tap, modern, stage dance, freestyle  and street dance. All pupils get to take regular exams and also take part in an annual show , currently at Harlow Playhouse, and a dress rehearsal and photoshoot.

Children of all ages are welcome from 3 years upwards and there are also adult classes in tap dancing at Highams Park. Fees are payable termly and there is also an annual costume fee which covers costumes being provided for both the exams and the shows.

Sarah Barrett – Principal – Member Ballet, Associate Tap, Associate Modern

Sarah started at Highams School of Dancing at 4 years of age and has been the Principal for the last 20 years. She initially qualified in ballet and then went on to study for her teaching qualification in both tap and modern. Since her time as Principal the school has expanded to include a branch in Epping. She is also very proud to have had her first pupils who she trained to qualify as teachers in 2010. These include her 2 daughters Chloe and Lucy.
